This is to ensure no exotic diseases are introduced into Australia. Australia is free from many animal-related diseases found in other parts of the world.
If you wish to import a cat or dog into Australia, you need to apply for an AQIS import permit via the Live Animal Imports Program. AQIS officers will assess the <a href="http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/cat-dogs/application">application</a> and – provided that the animal meets the import permit requirements – grant an import permit.
An import permit is required to book a space at an AQIS post-arrival <a href="http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/cat-dogs/accom">Animal Quarantine Station</a>. There are three post-arrival <a href="http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/cat-dogs/accom">Animal Quarantine Station</a>s for cats and dogs in Australia – Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
Different import conditions apply for the importation of <a href="http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/cat-dogs/assistance">disability assistance dogs</a>. The import conditions applicable for pets other than cats and dogs can be viewed through the following link; <a href="http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/cat-dogs/other">other pets</a>. Select the country you intend to export the cat or dog from below to download a detailed information package containing the relevant quarantine requirements, fees, import permit application form and the steps involved throughout the entire import process.
If the country is not listed below the direct importation of cats and dogs from that country into Australia is not permitted as the disease or risk status is considered to be too high. Refer to <a href="http://www.daffa.gov.au/aqis/cat-dogs/countries/cat6">Category 6 – all other countries</a> for more information.</div>

很可惜,下面的列表中,找不到CHINA.这是我头一回在网页上没找到这个单词最失落的时候.

AQIS does not allow the direct importation of cats and dogs from non-approved countries. Importation of cats and dogs from non-approved countries can only occur indirectly via a country approved by AQIS. Cats and dogs must be continuously resident in an approved country for a minimum of six months prior to import into Australia. There are no exceptions to this requirement. If you intend to import cats and dogs indirectly via an AQIS approved country, you must first contact the quarantine service in the approved country to ensure that cats and dogs are eligible for entry. Cats and dogs must meet all of the pre and post-entry quarantine requirements of the approved country. Cats and dogs that have been resident in an approved country for a minimum of six months can then become eligible for import into Australia under the AQIS import conditions that apply to that particular approved country. All vaccinations, blood samples and blood testing must be conducted whilst the cat or dog is resident in an AQIS approved country. AQIS will not accept any pre-export vaccinations, blood samples or blood testing completed in a non-approved country. AQIS recommends that you commence the import requirements for Australian quarantine as soon as possible after the cat or dogs arrival in the approved country. 全文的前面我十分失望,但下面的这句让我有了一点点念想:

我需要我的宝贝在中转地呆上六个月,就有可能带着他走.

好难的过程，放其他地方六个月，可是，你要进入那个其他的地方，又如何呢？

建议你找个香港当地的朋友  在做好晶片防疫等工作后在你朋友家寄养  香港渔农处那边规定好像这样隔离是可以的澳洲进口这些是查的很严格的如果你直接带猫出去在他们的隔离地方猫猫每天居住的费用是按照每天来计费这也是一笔比较庞大的费用每周你可以去探视2次我记得是这样  这些天也有人来问过我如何带猫回台湾  她也是在熙熙上收养的猫  不过她的难度估计没有你的大继续努力吧总有可以解决的办法

晕~~~猫我可不清楚哦，狗狗就去办个血统证，初具相关检疫资料，及申报~~~仲要买张成人票价既飞机票~~
 
不过到达目的国始终都要隔离~~入面环境惨不忍睹，活受罪，在隔离期间主人可以定期探访。
 
但~~听讲狗狗有个血统证明就可以减免隔离期！
